Totally worth check if you like beat-em-up genre.Cute girls, easy to learn controls, and plenty of robots to SMASH! what else do you need?. This type of game demands too many hours to be able to get all the upgrades for the characters and armaments BUT it does not have Steam Cloud, In a game like this Steam Cloud is absolute and totally necessary to ensure the integrity of a save that probably would take hours and hours of game.Said that for the rest is quite entertaining for what it offers, in addition to having pretty hot girls with good anatomical proportions. So my rating 8/10. Although for my taste it lacks a bit more of character content.Steam Cloud PLEASE!. SMASHING THE BATTLE is a fun hack-and-slash game. The story is quite simple but not every game must be a writing masterpiece. The controls are good and the music is quite decent. There are some mistakes here and there with the models of the heroines but you should be busy fighting enemies. It's a very repetitive so it might not be your coup of tea: if the story had 40 stages (instead of 60) in total it would've been much better. It has replay value with the challenges, missions (Steam achievements) and unlockable content. Pros:+Big anime tidies.+You can choose an agressive or defensive approach despite the skills of both characters.+Upgrades help you customize your playstyle.+If you lose at a stage you still keep your progress in terms of coins and scrap. +Lots of replay value if you like the game.Cons:-Very repetitive. All the levels at some point are repeated through the game.-The music is good but more tracks would've been better.-Perhaps the story levels are too many for the type of game.-The ending is mere text. Some pictures would fit better. Despite of the flaws it's a nice game to buy at a sale.. Promise:If you are just searching for a Hack'n'Slash game using controller input and featuring all the mechanics you came to love about controller style hack'n'slash Smashing The Battle is the best bet on Steam right now (2017). Also if you until now only played classic PC hack'n'slash and wanted to try out something more console-like, this would be the game to get first. And don't fret it's mobile background, since nothing in this game can be bought via real currency. Gameplay:This game is not easy - you will fail missions if you don't focus while playing. There is a "comeback mechanic" where if you get too much damage in, your armor might break and most of the abilites are gone, but you gain a big damage boost which basically is a "second chance" at not failing the mission.The only parts that you can really feel comming from mobile is the UI and the mission and super basic level structure including some clever obstacles, made for short bursts of playing and rewarding speed and skillful play with rather harsh ratings at the end of each mission, in the first playthough you might only get 1 or 2 out of 3 stars with 3 stars requiring you to use all the skills an dodge every attack in quick succession and with a sense for resource and impact to finish each mission as fast as you can.Story:The game features plot, i wouldn't call it a full story, but the plot is delivered consistently and keeps the attention of the player between missions, not interfering with the gameplay at all. Graphics:The character art is outstanding - at least for a fan of a slightly westernized Anime style - and is nicely animated in a flash-movie-like (or "Spriter" style if you are too young to know Flash animation) style of animation. The hand full of characters are not just slapped onto the product to gain attention, but received a lot of care from the artists. The 3D models are all in high quality with lots of movable parts. The technical aspect itself is rather low, since it was originally made for smartphones and tablets, so while the resolution can be as high as you want it, some textures are just slightly underneath HD standards.Verdict: Recommended to everyone wanting to try modern, controller-focused hack'n'slash that's done just right and requires skill to play.
